Jon Ossoff Leading Karen Handel By 7 Points In New Poll

Democrat Jon Ossoff is now leading Republican Karen Handel by 7 points in the Georgia 6th congressional special election, according to a new poll.

The new poll released Friday found Ossoff with 51 percent to compared to Karen Handel with 44 percent – 5 percent of voters are still undecided.

The poll was conducted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution survey released Friday.

The race to fill the seat left open by Tom Price has gained national attention as Democrats attempt to retake the House in 2018.

Another poll released Thursday found Ossoff with a smaller lead.

The special election runoff is will be on June 20, though early voting has been taking place for some time and will run through June 16.

Ossoff announced Thursday that his campaign set a fundraising record bringing in $23 million.

About the poll: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution conducted its latest survey of 1,000 likely voters via interviews from June 5-8. It has a 4 percent margin of error.
