The Senate Just Blocked Trump’s Ability To Remove Russian Sanctions Without Congressional Review

The Senate has struck a deal that limits Donald Trump’s ability to unilaterally remove Russian sanctions.

The news was first reported by The Hill.

Republican Senator Bob Corker told reporters that Senators have struck an agreement that would allow Congress to weigh in before Trump can lift current sanctions against Russia.

“I think we’re there. We’re going through the [legislative] language in here now, but we’ve reached an agreement,” Corker said.

“It’s what we did on Iran. So I would like to have congressional review on everything we do,” Corker said.
