Republicans Are Now Trying To Take Health Insurance From 32 Million People

If taking health insurance away from 22 million people fails, just aim higher.

That is exactly what Republicans are doing after the catastrophic failure of their health bill this week.

Just as most Senators left town for the 4th of July holiday this morning, Donald Trump tweeted out the new Republican strategy.

If they can’t agree on a replacement for Obamacare, Trump wants to give up on that and just do the repeal part.

That’s right, just repeal the Affordable Care Act and figure out a replacement later.

Thanks to the good folks at the Congressional Budget Office we already know just how devastating a full Obamacare repeal would be.

According to the CBO, 32 million people would lose their health insurance if Republicans repeal Obamacare without a replacement.

Yup, that’s 18 million more people than the last plan would have taken insurance away from.

Oh, and it would also cause insurance premiums to spike. The CBO says that premiums would surge 25% the first year and double by 2026.

And good luck with those pre-existing conditions…
