Steve Bannon, Kellyanne Conway Implicated In New Russia Collusion Scandal

The quickly growing Russia scandal just reached two prominent new Trump associates – Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway.

According to a follow-up report by the Wall Street Journal, Peter Smith, the Republican operative assembled a team to acquire what he believed to be stolen emails from Hillary Clinton’s private email server from Russian hackers.

The report details the first direct evidence of collusion between Americans and Russian hackers in the 2016 election hacking.

However, the Thursday’s Wall Street Journal report was also important for another new key fact in the Russia investigation.

According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. investigators have reviewed intelligence evidence of Russian hackers talking about hacking into Hillary Clinton’s email server and passing them on to Michael Flynn.

And Friday, the Journal has followed up that piece with new details about new Trump officials named in a document by Peter Smith.

“Officials identified in the document include Steve Bannon, now chief strategist for President Donald Trump; Kellyanne Conway, former campaign manager and now White House counselor; Sam Clovis, a policy adviser to the Trump campaign and now a senior adviser at the Agriculture Department; and retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, who was a campaign adviser and briefly was national security adviser in the Trump administration,” the report noted.

The document that lists Bannon and Conway also describes a plan for  “coordination to the extent permitted as an independent expenditure.”
