Obamacare Popularity Continues To Rise

Republicans have succeeded in making the Affordable Care Act popular with the American people.

One of the few things Republicans have been able to achieve this year is making Obamacare more popular with the American people.

A new poll released this week found that President Obama’s landmark legislation continues to gain in popularity.

Public Policy Polling’s December survey found that Obamacare has 57 percent approval, with just 36 percent disapproving.

That represents a 21 point gap.

And the popularity the Affordable Care Act has gone up over the last few months. According to PPP, support for Obamacare is up 5 points since October.

Americans don’t want Obamacare to be repealed

Additionally, Americans don’t want Obamacare to be repealed. According to PPP, “nearly 7 in 10 want Congress to keep what works about the ACA and fix what doesn’t rather than repeal it and start over with a new healthcare law.”

Support for fixing Obamacare rather than repealing it is even higher among independents who support repairing the ACA by a margin of 71 to 26.
