Obama Ethics Czar Explains Why Flynn’s Cooperation With Mueller Is Such A Big Deal

Norm Eisen explains why Donald Trump should be freaked out about Flynn cooperation with the Special Counsel investigation.

News broke on Thursday that Michael Flynn’s legal team has ended a cooperation agreement with President Trump’s legal team, signaling that Flynn is likely now cooperating with investigators.

Trump allies were quick to say that if Flynn is cooperating with the Special Counsel Mueller’s probe it doesn’t necessarily mean that there are any legal implications for Donald Trump.

But here’s the thing, Mueller wouldn’t offer Flynn any sort of cooperation deal unless he gets something in exchange – i.e. evidence against a bigger player.

Former President Obama’s Ethics Czar put it pretty succinctly via Twitter after the news broke. Norm Eisen tweeted the New York Times article saying “BAD NEWS FOR TRUMP. Flynn may or may not have dirt on the Prez, but he surely will roll over on Kush, who will flip like a pancake on daddy-in-law’s obstrution. They are gonna have to start frisking Jared for a wire in the Oval. Today is Cursegiving not Thanksgiving for POTUS.”

Eisen then followed that tweet up with another explaining that his experience with Mueller confirms he won’t give Flynn a cooperation deal unless he gets something big in return.

“I negotiated a cooperation deal for a target with Mueller’s office when he was US Atty and lemme tell ya, he’s not gonna give one to Flynn unless he implicates someone up the ladder. That means Kushner, Don Jr., or Big Daddy. They are all having indigestion tonight,” Eisen tweeted.

Eisen also added “One more thing I learned about Mueller. When I was at State & he was at FBI we worked together on an investigation, & he loves surprises. Kushner, Donnie Jr. and the rest of the Trump crime family better keep their overnight bags handy. Pack shoes with no laces guys.”
