McCain Returning To Arizona, Will Miss Tax Vote
Senator John McCain is heading back home to Arizona to recover from chemotherapy.
Senator John McCain will return home to Arizona after spending time at Walter Reed hospital because of side effects of chemotherapy treatment for brain cancer, CBS reports.
McCain will miss the vote on the Republican tax bill, which is likely to take place early this week.
Thus far, McCain has been a “yes” vote for the bill, but with his absence, Republicans can only afford to lose one more vote.
The senator’s daughter, Meghan McCain, tweeted after the news broke that she and her family are “looking forward to spending Christmas together in Arizona.”
“My father is doing well,” she said.
